I honestly thought Kate might think I was crazy, but I had to ask or I never would know. I swear I didn’t even finish my sentence and she pretty much had already said yes. It seemed like no time at all and we were sitting (with huge smiles) at the departure gate at the Sydney International Airport on a flight bound for LA.
Kate as I told you in my last blog is one of those friends, you know the ones where you hang out and then you feel as though you can take on the world. You can imagine the amount of endless energy we had while in LA together.
We could not contain our excitement anywhere we went. We stayed in this great little Airbnb place just a walk from Venice Beach. Honestly, we were so excited when we got there that we dumped our bags, had a quick shower and head straight out the door. Hello LA! We lost it when we found the Whole Foods Market just down from where we were staying. No surprise there I guess that Kate and I would search for good quality food.
Also a fantastic discovery was this Vegan Ice Cream van that would park one block away from us every night and it was divine! We found kombucha, green juices, healthy smoothies, raw treats and organic goodness all near by. We did a lot of cooking at the apartment but we treated ourselves at night by ticking off and trying the amazing restaurants that our Airbnb host recommended.
Don’t believe me that we had an insane amount of energy? Well one of the days Kate and I wanted to do a hike to Temescal Canyon and looking on the map we thought it was only a few km from where we where staying. We got up early walked through Venice beach up past Santa Monica had some breakfast and we began to realise we were a long way off getting there. Already come so far we decided to keep going and I’m glad we did because the view was amazing.
Ps those Americans who say that Australia has too many dangerous animals need to go to Temescal Canyon and read this sign:
Although the LA part of our trip was a holiday we still made time each day for the things that are important to us like to meditate, write, exercise and eating food that would nourish our body.
We dedicated most of our time for fun. Whether it was sightseeing, dancing in the apartment or on the street (yes I got pulled into a street show), people watching and hanging out, watching sunrises and sunsets. Making new friends was also a highlight of the trip, at some of the restaurants they had communal tables so we chat away to friendly locals and even one friendly local showed us around.
We went to San Diego as well and attend Bo Eason’s Personal Power Story Event which was fantastic. We even did a trip to Mexico:
And to go back to the story at the start, we didn’t get arrested by the police. We were walking in the dark trying to find our way to the beach when we walked into a restricted area by mistake. We were trying to get to the beach to do a mediation at sunrise. Wow it’s dark there in the morning!
Travelling with Kate was an awesome experience and it made me realise the kind of friends I want to surround myself with. More and more I know my time is precious so I will choose to spend my time with the people who encourage and uplift, who find humour throughout the day, who dance without the aid of alcohol, who see the beauty of a place, who attract positive experiences, who push themselves to go that extra mile, who stay true to themselves and their values even on holidays. Who say yes to travel and are open to new doors of discovery. To keep lifting their vibration and that of those around them. To see the best in others and themselves.
Anything is possible when you believe. If you want to hang out with us quirky, dancing and laughter filled girls who are bursting to share our knowledge and tools for Finding An Inspired Life then come hang out with us at our next event. It happening soon…. like next weekend. If you book in before midnight the 12th of April I will give you a free signed copy of my book.
As promised Kate and I dancing:
