Have you ever met someone and knew it was the start of something special?
Being a flight attendant and travelling all over the world I found it easy to make friends with strangers. After leaving the airline and finding myself in Dubbo I quickly made friends. Dubbo is a friendly city, I remember my first day there I ran around the river and every single person said hi, it really made me smile.
I was on the phone to my sister one night enjoying the fact we talked more often since I had returned. I was telling her how although I have met all these great people I didn’t know if I would find someone who is into the same stuff as me. I wanted a friend who would rather step away from the drama and gossip and spend more time on quality conversations. A person who has passions and dreams and wants to make them come true, a person who would listen to crazy ideas and instead of saying ‘as if’ would say ‘that’s awesome’.
“Well there’s this girl named Kate and she owns a blog called Inspired Mood” my sister said excitedly over the phone. I had a snoop around her website and then decided I should get in contact with her. I resorted to contacting her in a message on Facebook when I couldn’t find another way.
Kate ended up coming to the workshop in a work break. She walked in with a friendly smile and left with a nice message on my feedback form ‘First time? I never would have known’. She even wrote a blog about her experience at the workshop.
That was the beginning of our friendship. I knew that she would be a lifelong friend and I think she thought the same because after not knowing each other long I was invited to her Wedding.
I have a beautiful friendship with Kate. We have inspired each other to take action on some crazy ideas and come out smiling. We’ve cried together and laughed until our belly hurts, share stories and started a writers group, travelled together, danced, danced and our friendship has grown and we’ve danced some more.
To be honest we have our moments when we need to vent but we don’t waste our time complaining or get caught up in the drama of a story. We look at what we can do, how we can solve it or move on.
Kate is one of those people who leaves you inspired and uplifted long after you leave her presence. That’s the kind of friend I want to spend time with and that’s the kind of friend I want to be . To uplift, inspire and encourage, to see the light they shine and help it grow.
Our friendship has given us both so much and now we want to give to others. I am happy to announce that Kate and I are joining forces. To help you have a better quality of life, to feel deeply happy, to take action on your dreams and desires and make them come true. We want to be your friend, your personal cheerleader for positive change and show you have a choice to live the life you deserve. Learn who you are and how you can make a difference.
We’ve called it Finding An Inspired Life and if your ready, we hope to see you there!
You know how I mentioned that we love to dance? I bet you want to see that. Keep an eye out for my next blog Finding my way in LA with Inspired Mood.
